Holy Cross College

The Marianites of Holy Cross, a group of French women religious, founded Our Lady of Holy Cross College in 1916 (then called the Holy Cross Normal College) to train teachers for the several schools they had established around Louisiana. In 1960, the college was relocated to the West bank and given its current name. In 1967, the school opened admissions to male students for the first time. In 1983 it initiated a four-year degree program in nursing and in 1984 began offering a Master of Education program. In recent years, the college has increased its fundraising, improved its physical facility and doubled its enrollment.

The Village Aurora Shopping Center offers products and services to the community including a News N' Brews coffee shop and several other national chain stores and an Entergy Customer Care Center. And in Woodland Park, the Parkway Partners’ plant and maintain trees in memory of the community’s loved ones.
